Why I love my Dad for teaching me to get greasy

Just two days ago my wife called me as I was about to leave work. Her van wouldn't start. I borrowed a set of pliers, cause like and idiot I took my tool box out of my car over the weekend. So armed with my pliers I went to go fix my wifes van. I knew that she had a loose connection on her newly installed battery. That happens quite often on a newly replaced battery if the terminals are as old as these where. So long story short her van started after a little tension.
On the way home from rescueing her I was thinking how glad I was that my father had taught me how to work on cars and how greatfull I was that he took the time to teach me. I know first hand how hard it can be to get a young boy to stop and listen to what you are telling him. I'm sure he lost many tools that I "borrowed" over the years but I', so glad that he let me learn and also let me slow him down while I tried.
